Our Company History

PRIORITY Patient Transfer Service was founded in 2005, out of a desire to bring a higher standard of care in transportation, to the Ottawa area. Since that time, PRIORITY has expanded its operations to include all of eastern Ontario, from Deep River and Barry’s Bay to Cornwall and Hawkesbury.

Over the years, we have made substantial investment in our vehicle fleet, equipment training, and support for our employees.

Debra Szirtes

Debra Szirtes, founder and president of PPTS, has been an executive in the Ontario transportation industry for over 27 years. Debra brings with her a comprehensive understanding of the non-urgent patient transfer industry; specifically, the operational and logistical experience of running an integrated transportation network throughout the Eastern Ontario region. Before founding Priority, Debra was the Vice President of West Way and Airport Taxi in Ottawa Ontario, managing the operation of a fleet of over 450 vehicles, including over 50 accessible vehicles. Debra has received a number of honors, including Business Woman of the Year and the recipient of the 2005 Greater Nepean Chamber of Commerce Innovation Award.

As a builder of effective business systems and teams, Rob’s career has been dedicated to transforming organizations, throughout Canada. Rob has demonstrated a proven track record across multiple sectors including healthcare, manufacturing, insurance and logistics. Bringing this diverse background and unique blend of skill-sets and 20 years of experience, to Priority, provides Rob with a distinct perspective. As a natural leader, Rob works on developing corporate cultures that focus on innovation and collaboration. Having worked in the patient transfer industry across Ontario, Rob is ensuring that Priority’s growth is always balanced with client satisfaction and employee motivations.

We take pride in the fact that we set the standard for best practices in the industry and that we exceed the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Standards for Safety and Quality.
