As we grow, we are expanding our Dispatch team to assist in managing dispatch duties, part-time, located in our Nepean Head Office. This position will be required to work mornings/evenings and weekends, in a friendly and supported atmosphere.
- The Priority Patient Transfer Lead Dispatcher (“the Dispatcher”) role operates from the Head Office or Base of the Company. Their role is to provide direct dispatching and dispatch oversight for all logistics of the Company. The Dispatcher is responsible for managing and monitoring the fleet of vehicles and coordinating all attendant and front-line staff to provide efficient, safe, and productive services, while meeting all statutory obligations and company policies. This position is expected to coach, mentor and supervise all other dispatch employees during the week, providing auditing and quality control duties of all crews, assist with base duties, and prepare and generate reports and business intelligence functions. In addition, this position is expected to act as the lead in all trouble-shooting and maintenance aspects associated with the phone system and logistical software platforms utilized for dispatching. The Dispatcher is expected to maintain a safe, clean and professional environment for themselves and their colleagues at all times and to abide by all legislation and company policies regarding scheduling, hours of work, health and safety, privacy, etc. The Dispatcher is expected to work within their scope, as outlined in this Job Description and supporting policies and procedures. They can also expect significant interaction with hospital staff and provide some level of marketing and customer support.
- Adhere to all standard scope and expectation established for dispatchers, when performing dispatching duties;
- Coach, mentor and oversee all dispatch staff, while on shift. This includes providing after-hours support to dispatchers and assisting with annual employee evaluations;
- Provide auditing and quality control functions including, end of shift vehicle inspections, inspecting paperwork and auditing files for accuracy;
- Assisting with Company Business Intelligence functions including preparing and distributing reports, conducting costing and volume analysis, providing management with daily activity reports, etc.;
- Customer Service duties including answering client inquiries, providing awareness training to hospital staff, preparing quotes for services, etc.;
- Responding to Company emergencies;
- Conduct any required base duties including, but not limited to, inventory check, laundry duties, picking up supplies, refueling trucks, washing and cleaning trucks, etc.;
- Managing phone systems and dispatching hardware and software;
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment for all employees, free from harassment;
- Provide a professional and consistent approach to all dealings with co-workers, clients and the public;
- Any other duties, as assigned
